a tribute to Gossett

This page is intended for medical professionals who recognize that the art of caregiving is a practice never perfected: knowledge changes, society changes, how we learn changes,  as do we the learners. For the record, I consider the title “student” to be lauditory – its permanent companions are humility, curiosity, and ambition. If you share this vision, then you are welcome here.

The student section of this site is not necessarily intended for patients – although we are all patients. The reflections and ideas explored here are my own. That said, few ideas are truly original, and  I will often don the hat of other thinkers to shine light on their ideas. Everything here is intended to be a thoughtful addition to your educational journey. At times, I may explore subjects or viewpoints that are provocative, or even bombastic.

All information should be considered as informational and educational. If you are a patient who also wears a student’s hat, do not treat yourself, or others based soley on the ideas on this site. Self-care, like education, is a journey, – one that you should undertake in the company of one or more trusted caregivers.
